a notable share in the overall payment methods conducted in Japan.

A “Kiosk Terminal” is located at each store. Customer who settles a payment, inputs a unique payment number as well as their phone number into the terminal. A receipt is issued. The customer brings the receipt to the cash register and pays.
Pay-easy is another in-person payment method very similar to the Konbini payment one.
Payments using Internet banking are becoming more and more popular every year as the number of Internet users in Japan increases. Japan Net Bank and Rakuten Bank are two of the major "Net only" banks (having no retail premises) .
